With This Pizza, I Thee Wed

Monday is usually a quiet night at the restaurant, but not this week! Two of our favorite people in the world, Vince and Susie, just announced their engagement so we, and a few dozen more of their friends, threw them a party at the restaurant.

We first met Vince when he came to work for Bun as a waiter about three years ago. He’s a lovely guy, friendly and open, and was a big hit with the customers. He likes to sing while he works, and at first we were a bit iffy about this … maybe it would disturb the customers? But after several of our regulars mentioned to us how much they enjoyed hearing Vince sing, since he was obviously having such fun serving them, we let him go for it.

Fun At the Farmers’ Market

Last weekend Bun and I took the kids to the Farmers’ Market in town. Bun goes there quite often looking for interesting food ideas for the restaurant, and to stay in touch with friends in the local food scene, but I hadn’t been there for ages.

It’s expanded quite a lot since the last time I was there; they’ve cleared an area of waste land next to the market and opened it up to vendors. There’s now a few more people selling non-food items, but also a lot more farmers from further afield.
